This plate is perfect for snacking or even as a saucer for our Mashikoyaki Coffee Cup or Mashikoyaki Tea Cup! It was created by Tsukamoto, a 157-year-old kamamoto (pottery) maker based in Mashiko-cho, Tochigi. Tsukamoto has perfected the Edo Period mashikoyaki pottery style, which features clay rich in silicic acid and iron. This clay makes the items easy to hold, with a rustic aesthetic.
