This stunning Kiriko glass in collaboration with Bokksu is for those who cherish high quality cups. Kiriko crystal glassware originated in the Edo period and continues to capture hearts with its delicate and simple designs. It aims to accentuate the beauty of the glass itself, rather than the variety of cuts. Its craftsmanship and technique have been passed down for over 130 years. Technically speaking, the process of crafting Kiriko glassware is very difficult. It's a hand-cutting process that requires intense patience and skill to make precise impressions. This glass features many wrapping lines from the mouth to the bottom of the class, creating a shining striped pattern through the glistening orange - a color especially chosen for this Bokksu collaboration. This is a unique impression that is not often seen in Edo Kiriko glassware but is significant nonetheless. It expresses a motif of an uzumakimon (vortex), a geometric pattern from ancient times that was widely used, from kimonos to porcelain. When looking into the glass, the pattern will resemble a sokogiku (chrysanthemum flower). You will love the beautiful glossy shine and weighted feeling in your hand when using this glass.
