We tried Starbucks Japan's Sakura Frappuccino

Starbucks Japan is already in full spring bloom this year! As usual, the popular coffee chain has released a new line of cherry blossom themed drinks, coffees, and collectibles. This year we went to go try the famous Sakura Milk Pudding Frappuccino, 2020's spring seasonal drink!

Here it is, in all of its glory:

It's still winter in Japan, but some unseasonably warm weather has tricked the cherry blossoms into blooming early. Perfect for our sakura frappuccino tasting!

This complex drink includes arare shaped like sakura petals, sakura strawberry sauce, sakura powder, and sakura milk pudding!

The blend of cream and sakura makes for a pleasantly sweet and creamy drink. The floral notes rose above the milk like an aroma but were (thankfully) not perfumey. The streaks of sauce added moments of punchy flavor, and the milk jelly at the bottom added a nice contrast to the crunchy petals on top.

Overall, a great drink to welcome spring! Glad we got to try this seasonal item.
